Overview

Create anatmosphere of celebration and reverence to God through music for all worship services.Lead and direct the Worship Arts Ministry to include choir(s), vocal,instrumental and other ensembles/expressions of worship experience. Foster aninnovative, inter-generational style of music to enhance and support theworship message goals.

PrincipalFunction: The Worship Director is responsible for planning, conducting, andevaluating weekly worship for IBC services (in close coordination with theSenior Pastor).

Responsibilities

1. Provide engaging, inspiring andmotivational worship experiences for IBC’s services and programs/events.

2. Coordinate with the Senior Pastorand Worship Arts Ministry team to create and lead well-planned and engagingweekly worship services. This includes recruiting and developing a worship team,vocalists and instrumentalist. Responsibilities include preparation for andleading rehearsals.

3. Collaborate with Pastor(s), WorshipAssociate, and other WA Ministry leaders to select all worship music.

4. Help bridge generational/culturaldifferences by selecting a balance of musical styles for every service whichwill, as a whole, have inter-generational and multicultural appeal.

5. Develop opportunities for Youth andYoung Adult involvement in the worship services.

6. Collaborate with Worship ArtsMinistry team to develop and administer an annual budget for the worshipministry in accordance with the financial policies of the church.

Requirementsand Qualifications

1. Committed disciple of Jesus Christ,seeking to know, love and serve God & neighbour, and also committed tocontinual spiritual growth.

2. Music background with theappropriate educational qualifications and proficiency in leading worship witha strong vocal ability.

3. Minimum of 3-5 years’ experienceleading and planning congregational worship with the ability to lead, inspireand engage the congregation during the worship experience.

4. Have a passion and vision forincluding contemporary praise music along with upbeat traditional Christianmusic in worship ministry in order to contribute to worship vitality in amulticultural and multigenerational community. Capable of leading with a guitarand/or keyboard.

5. Ability to direct and conduct choirand orchestra is an added plus.

6. Must be able to coach and guide allthe members of the worship arts ministry to continually enhance their musicalskills.

7. Strong leadership, organizationaland communication skills required to effectively collaborate with both thechurch staff and administrators as well as the other members of the worshiparts ministry.

8. Knowledge of Baptist theology isdesired, but not required.

Salary

Commensuratewith experience and duties performed.
